Atode includes a bookmark share extension. When installing the app, you may need to manually enable the share extension for it to appear.

1. Open Safari or another browser
2. Navigate to a web page
3. Tap the share button (box with arrow)
4. Scroll all the way to the right
5. Tap on More and Edit apps
6. Enable the Atode extension
7. Add Atode to your Favorites (+)
8. Tap on Done to complete

It can sometimes happen, that the share extension is no longer available. This appears to be an operating system level issue that randomly affects third-party apps. What usually helps is to either quit and re-launch Safari or restart your device.

Atode for Mac contains the same share extension. If it’s not available, you will need to enable the extension in the System Settings.

2. Click General in the sidebar
3. Click Login Items & Extensions
4. Scroll down to Extensions
5. Click the Info button next to Atode
6. Enable sharing content for the application

For additional details, refer to Apple’s Mac User Guide. Most browsers allow you to customize the toolbar. You might want to drag the Share item to your toolbar for easy access.

Browsers other than Safari usually show share extensions under File > Share or in the toolbar. For more information, please refer to the support documentation for e.g. Firefox or Chrome.

Another option to bookmark articles is to use the Safari Web Extension. A Safari web extension adds custom functionality to Safari and is directly available when you open a web page.

You can enable it either from Safari or from settings:

1. Open Safari
2. Tap the left button in the address bar
3. Select Manage Extensions
4. Enable Atode extension

Settings

1. Open device settings
2. Navigate to Safari app:
   Settings > Apps > Safari
3. Tap on Extensions
4. Enable Atode extension

Afterwards, it should be available as Atode + when you tap the bottom left toolbar item in the address bar. For additional details, refer to the Apple Support user guide.

Browser extensions have very strict memory limits, larger web pages can sometimes not be saved and processed on mobile or tablet devices. Use the share extension instead.

You can save articles directly from Safari, Firefox, Chrome or any other browser and app by using the bookmark extension.

2. Activate the Atode share or web extension
   • Share: Tap the share button (box with arrow)
   • Safari: Tap on the Atode toolbar item
3. Choose Atode to bookmark the page

The extension bookmarks and saves the current page content. The stored article will be processed later on by the app, either when running in the background or on the next launch.

Atode is focused on bookmarking text based content. It can capture most news, blog or other articles without any problems. But some websites or articles don’t work well. Consult the Bookmarks FAQ for additional details and hints.
